Canon Powershot SD1200 IS Digital Elph Review

This is going to be a review on this camera. I really recommend getting this camera for on the go, videos, and anything. It has a lot of options, for a simple camera user like me. It has an image stabilizer to focus on anything from the closest point to the farthest point. Out of a 10 point rating I’ll give it a 9/10. Just because I think it should’ve came with a SD card, and the D-Pad is a bit too flush. I have the blue version, and they a lot more different colors. Its a 10 megapixel small on the go camera, perfect for someone who goes to a bunch of places. Comes with: Cable to connect to TV USB Cable to connect to computer Start up manuals in English and Spanish Software CD Battery Battery Charger Wrist strap Battery Cover Warranty Canon Powershot SD 1200 Digital Elph All for the price around 150$ Hope you like this review!
Video Rating: 4 / 5

  5. HiddenBubbles says:

@jmnguyen95 I swear! Once I was messing with my camera and I got it to work, but I completely forgot what I did. x___x Maybe it was the natural lighting, dunno. :$

  6. jmnguyen95 says:

@HiddenBubbles unfortunately this camera doesn’t have auto focus! i know, it gets really annoying…but yeah.

  7. HiddenBubbles says:

How can I get an object to focus when I bring it up closer to the camera in a video? I have the exact same camera as you, but in a different colour, and I hate using macro, because after I move the camera further away from the object it get blurry ):

  8. xoeddieox1 says:

thank youuuuuuuuuu i thought it didnt focus but i changed it to macro and it focuses <3

  9. msnoodles17 says:

can it focus when you are filming?

  10. WillowTheCatXD says:

I have the same camera and I have a question… can you record an audio instead of a video? Like… just the sound with no vid with it…

  11. musicluvu says:

I need help on mine. The place where the battery goes doesn’t open, it’s like it’s jammed. What can I do so it can open?

  13. untouchable660 says:

@jmnguyen95 thanx i think i’d rather get the new version sd1300

  14. jmnguyen95 says:

@untouchable660 depepnds what you like, but more retail stores sell black and blue. on canon’s website they have black, pink, blue, orange, silver, and green

  15. untouchable660 says:

WHAT IS THE MOST POPULAR COLOR?

  16. jmnguyen95 says:

@HorseKrazy4ever record the tv? you can connect it to the tv with the video cord.

  17. jmnguyen95 says:

@TheHateSkateTeam macro allows the camera to see things very clearly at a very close angle. (ex. a flower or want something very detailed). normal is just a normal video, nothing too detailed. Infinity allows you to focus on the farthest objects. (ex. yosemite, grand canyon)

  18. TheHateSkateTeam says:

@jmnguyen95 what does macro, normal, and infiniti mean?

  19. jmnguyen95 says:

@JemiNemiLoverGirl hmm not sure, but there are higher models now. lk the sd 1400, its very similar, and i’m pretty sure its around this price

  20. JemiNemiLoverGirl says:

Does it still cost 150$ because my mom only wants me to find a camera that cost that much. :[

  21. iSweetCookie says:

i just recently broke my camera, so i was looking for a new pretty cheap camera [my old one was about 300$ ] so, i really love this camera, and i thank you for the review! :D

  22. Giardintek says:

  23. sferro88 says:

hi just a quick question. Not sure if you could help me. I was palying around with my camera and I clicked on the format box and somehow must have changed it. The problem with that was then all my photos on the camera somehow got deleted from that. Is there any way I can get them back or are they lost for good.

  24. death21579 says:

  25. ManyThings5456 says:

i need help finding the aperture on this camera

  26. MESSER8989 says:

Spend $30 more and get the Canon SD 780 IS. It records 720p HD

  27. Erkerkerk123 says:

whats the video function like on this camera? Good? not so good?
I have a Nikon D80 but I’m just looking for a second, go-to camera that will take some good quality videos. Is this worth it?

  28. skatergirl94711 says:

does this camera have color accent?

  29. ktymimokouy says:

i luv my new camera, but i put my old SD card from my other camera and i was wondering, how do i delete all 557 photos?

  30. 07Baylee says:

I would recomend the cannon power shot sd 1200 because i had a nikon and i did not really enjoy it but i absoulutleyy love my cannon! i got it for chrsitmas and i never put it donw!

  31. cutesaltywaffles says:

These are the cameras in Avril’s commercials right? I have a question. I’m stuck between two cameras.
Which camera has more HD and takes better pictures? I’m stuck between Power Shot sd1200, or Nikon Coolpix p90.
And I have another question, at 3:35-3:38 can you plug in a cruzer 4GB memory stick and transfer pictures off the camera onto the memory stick? Or is that only useble to plug into the computer. Does this Powershot sd1200 come with a USB port to transfer the pictures onto the computer?

  32. Bobina20 says:

@ArtistsCry13 my dad got me the sd1200 for chanukkah

  33. ArtistsCry13 says:

I’m SOOOOOOOOO asking for the silver version of this camera

  34. vaughnscheunemann says:

Digital zoom fucking sucks never buy a camera or video camera for its digital its all in the optical zoom

  35. masscashstacks says:

You clearly must not know how to use your new camera.

    it should.

  37. BluezShred says:

You can get this on Lockerz for free. I have a video on it, soo you can check it out and email me for invite.

  38. ScorchinBeats says:

I hate this camera. I bought it a few days ago, but the way it captures lighting is horrible. Low light is also bad because you need to turn the ISO really high to get any light at all.

  39. 0987zxcv0987 says:

Fuck yeah, lacrosse owns soccer all day.

  40. Whitgirl859 says:

Great review! I’ve been looking at all the different digital cameras on the market and it can be so confusing! Thanks for breaking it down!

  41. JerryRSun says:

The SD1200 does not have color swap and color accent.

  42. MACbrownieBombshell says:

Hi dose this Powder shot DS 1200 have color swap and color actscent? please let me know ok thank

  43. MidwestAntics says:

Does it work with Windows movie Maker?

  44. mca7542 says:

    Great Review!!!

  45. JerryRSun says:

This is a nice overall camera, but I just wish it had 720p HD video. The lens is f/2.8, which is better than how most slim cameras have f/3.5, giving much better low light performance. If only this camera had 720p or if the SD780 IS had f/2.8, then they would be perfect.

Also, is this review filmed with a green screen? :-P

  46. realistlife says:

I really like this camera… i bough it yesterday pretty good

  47. hailes776544 says:

That was a great review! I love my Canon Powershot SD 1200 IS. It is awesome. :]
